Teacher, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia, 1866-1870. Ordained June 10, 1878, and went to Alaska as missionary to Fort Wrangel, there as missionary and explorer, 1878-1888. Organized 1st Protestant church in Alaska, 1879.
