Background

Elrod, Samuel Harrison was born on May 1, 1856 in near Coatesville, Indiana, United States. Son of Jesse F. and Lydia (Pursel) Elrod.

Education

Bachelor of Arts, DePauw University, 1882, A.M., 1885 (worked way through university by doing janitor work).

Career

Admitted to bar, 1882, and began practice at Clark, South Dakot.

Religion

The life with Christ is not only to live in the atmosphere of your local church. God made his children creative, productive, and therefore able to make the whole world a better place.

Politics

The state should not use its authority to promote particular religious beliefs, nor should it require prayer or worship in the public schools. However, the state should leave students free to practice their own religious convictions.

Views

All Christians need to be familiar with the Bible, that contains a wide variety of literature, including history, law, poetry, gospels, letters, polemic, stories and apocalyptic visions, and try to immerse themselves in lieutenant.
