Thurman, Samuel R. was born on May 6, 1850 in LaRue Company, Kentucky, United States. Son of William and Mary Margaret (Brown) Thurman.

Education

Moved to Utah at 20: student Brigham Young Academy and law department of University of Michigan, 1880.

Career

Teacher public schools, Utah, 8 years. Practiced law with David Evans, at Provo, Utah, until 1886, later member firm Thurman & Sutherland, firm Thurman, Sutherland & King, and of Rawlins, Thurman, Hurd & Wedgwood. Assistant in legal department D.&Radh Govinda Railway, 1893-1912.
