1902 completed Kutaisi Agric College and teachers’ courses.
Worked as a teacher; 1905 led armed peasant revolt in Western Geo together with M. Tskhakaya and North. Doctorate. Kikinadze. Late 1907 arrested, jailed and exiled until 1911. Fled from exile and emigrated to Turkey, then Bulgaria where he worked under Doctorate. Blagoyev and G. Dimitrov.
In Switzerland met Lenin. Carried out commissions for Foreign Party Center. April 1917 returned to Russia.
Worked in Vladikavkaz, helping Kirov to run the Bolshevik organisation. From March 1918 chairman, Council of People's Commissar, Tersk People's Republic.
