Career
Per her official website, Martin has been acting professionally since she was 15 years old. She has adapted the screenplays of several theatrical plays and served as associate producer of several TNT productions including the theatrically released film Gettysburg. As a character actress some of her best-known roles include a policewoman in 48 Hrs., Mistress
Meredith in Real Genius, a dying burn victim in Nip/Tuck, Janice in Barfly, and Mac"s mom in lieutenant"s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
She has appeared in movies such as Defenseless, China Moon, Speed, Napoleon Dynamite, and Hot Tamale. She was featured in the popular film Marley & Maine as the woman who sold Marley as "Clearance Puppy".
Martin is also well known for her recurring role on the Home Box Office series Big Love.
