Sanshiotei Karaku was the Japanese rakugo storyteller. Is the originator of Sandai-banashi technique of telling stories. According to this technique, the audience name three subjects, and the storyteller combines the three subjects into one story.

He was actually by profession a maker of combs, but soon won fame as a rakugo storyteller and it is said he was often summoned by Shogun Ienari Tokugawa to regale the Court.
