Background

Saohime was born in Japan. Her father was Hikoimasu-no-Mikoto and her mother Sao-Okuramitome.

Career

Her elder brother, Saohiko, with an intention of usurping the throne, urged her to assassinate the Emperor. She revealed her brother's designs to the Emperor, who sent his forces to Saohiko. Saohiko resisted and refused to surrender. Saohime entered her brother's for t and died with him when it was burned down.
