Sara Tetro

Background

Tetro was born in New Zealand on 11 April 1969. She later attended Auckland Technical Institute before entering the modelling industry, following encouragement from her father.

Education

She attended Takapuna Grammar school in Auckland, New Zealand.

Career

She is the host of the TV3 New Zealand reality series, New Zealand"s Next Top Model. Modeling Tetro is a former model who worked for local agent Maysie Bestall-Cohen. After five years, she had enough of personally modeling, so she became a casting agent instead and started her own modelling company, "62 Models".

Agency Tetro started her company, "62 Models" in the 1990s and her business has consistently been at the top of the modelling and celebrity industry in New Zealand.

She then bought the casting agency, The People Shop. She has many of New Zealand’s best known celebrities on her business books including Hayley Holt, Marc Ellis, Temepara George, Wendy Petrie, Michael Campbell, and Doug Howlett.

When television producer Julie Christie needed stars to appear on the reality series Treasure Island, she called Tetro and she found what Christie was looking foreign She brokered the deal that made Dan Carter an international model and star for Jockey Underwear and he has since appeared on model advertisements in Paris, France.

She supplies for every model for Farmers advertisements.

In past years Tetro has become an influential figure in the New Zealand entertainment industry. She’s the person behind women's magazine covers of smiling celebrities and their babies. She’s responsible for stranding the likes of Peggy Bourne and Simon Doull on reality series Celebrity Treasure Island and she also runs three major companies.

Achievements

• She first became famous in New Zealand through owning her own model casting agency, 62 Models Management, which has since become a worldwide successful agency.
