Thompson, Sarah was born on November 27, 1954 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States. Daughter of John Roland and Doris Virginia (Harrell) Thompson.


Bachelor of Fine Arts, Louisiana State University, 1978. Master of Fine Arts, University Washington, 1981. Studied with Jacob Lawrence.
