Pate’s Grammar School for Girls, Cheltenham, R.C.M. and privately with Vera Rozsa. Violin and cello and then voice (with Ruth Packer and Cuthbert Smith) at R.C.M.

Career

Debut Metropolitan Opera, New York, as Micha in Handel’s Samson 1986. Has sung opera in Chicago, San Francisco, Gottingen, Geneva, Vienna and Brussels. Concert repertoire includes, in addition to standard works, contemporary and avant-garde works by Berio, Boulez, Cage, Ligeti, Xenakis and others

Sang Rule Britannia at last night of 1985 and 1989 British Broadcasting Corporation Promenade concerts, London.

Recital debut, Wigmore Hall, London with regular recital partner, Roger Vignoles, 1979. Recital tours Australia, North. America, Europe.

Numerous. President Cheltenham Bach Choir.
