Career
Kar then became the Minister for Education and Culture in 1971 in the Biswanath Das Ministry. He was elected as a Janata Dal Member of Parliament in 1977 He was the speaker of the Twelfth Assembly from 29 February 2000 to 06 February 2004. He has written four poety books (Druta Bilambita, Manthan, Romanthan and Ananya) in Odia.
