Sasamaru Utazawa was born in 1798 in Japan.
Sasamaru Utazawa was a retainer of the Tokugawa "Shogunate" and was fond of Hauta (folk) songs. Later he originated his own tune called "Utazawa" with Shibakin and Toraemon Utazawa in 1855. His talent secured him the title of "Yamato-daijo" (Master Artist of Yamato).
