In 1925 became chief priest of Gankoji Temple of Judo Sect of Buddhism. Became lecturer (1930) and then professor of Taisho University (since 1940). Appointed manager of Нoпеп Shonin Sankokai (Society for Glorification of St. Shinran) and chief editor of Jodo (Sukhavati, pure land or the Buddhist Elysium) (1935). Became dean of Junior College Department of Taisho University (1946) and chief professor of Philosophy Department (1947) and dean of Literature Department of the same university (1951).
