Career
Served as professor at Preparatory Department of Meiji University and at Science Bureau of Education Ministry and thereafter in 1954 became professor of Tokyo University of Education. In 1948 received first decree ever to be conferred upon student of French language for his studies in "Some Uses of Conjunctive Moods in French Language”. With Hideji Matsubara Shigeo, Kawamoto and others in 1951 organized “Society for Study of French Language", that later developed into "Japan Society of French Language". Presently devotes himself to compilation of French-Japanese dictionary.
