Satyaveer Munna is an Indian politician, sitting Member of Legislative Assembly of Soraon, Uttar Pradesh, affiliated with Samajwadi Party.
Background
He is son of a former Union Minister and senior Indian National Congress leader late Dharamveer and brother of three times Member of Parliament Shailendra Kumar
This is because apart from being the son of a former union minister and senior Congress leader late Dharamveer, his brother and senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shailendra Kumar is also a three times Member of Parliament from Kaushambi.
Career
In 2012, He was elected as Modern Language Association for Soraon defeating Bahujan Samaj Party"s former minister Babulal Bhawra. Background
He was elected again as Modern Language Association in 1969 from Manjhanpur and become State Food & Civil Supply Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1971. After that he was elected as a Modern Language Association in 1974 from Manjhanpur and served as Home Minister of Uttar Pradesh with Independent Charge in 1975.
He also served as Utttar Pradesh Congress Committee President in 1978 to 1980.
Satyaveer"s father late Dharmaveer was a leader of the masses and very close to the then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. Early life and education
Satyaveer was born on 3 June, 1972 in Children Hospital, Allahabad.
He pursued Bachelor of Arts from Allahabad University in 1993-1994 and later graduated with Master"s degree in Geography (Master of Arts) from Allahabad University in 1996-1997. He qualified Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in 2001 and got posted in Itawa but left the service and was selected through commission as Lecture of Geography in Motiha College, Handia, Allahabad.
Satyaveer has been elected for the first time from Soraon assembly constituency of Allahabad district with the second highest margin among Samajwadi Party Modern Language Association by the vote of fourteen thousand in 2012.
In the 2012 elections, Munna was elected as legislator for the first time in 2012 from Soraon assembly segment of Allahabad by a margin of 14,000 votes, defeating nearest Bahujan Samaj Party"s candidate Babulal Bhawra.

Satyaveer Munna"s claim for the ministerial berth is backed by his political lineage and strong support in the party as opined by party leaders. Satyaveer Munna hails from a renowned political family and is son of Dharmaveer, who served as thrice legislature from 1967 to 1977, winning assembly elections first time in 1967 from Meja, there after became State Transport Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1969. Although being involved with the teaching profession he always took part in social work and participated in party programs of Samajwadi Party.
Membership
He was elected Member of Parliament in 1980 and become Central Labor & Rehabilitation Minister in Union Cabinet until passing away on 22, December, 1984.
