He studied the techniques of moulding and casting at the Fallas studio in Alicante. He took the Master of Art and Education Degree at the Teachers" College, Columbia University, and attended Professor Maxwell"s lithography lessons.

His first exhibitions were held in 1964 in Bilbao. He was awarded the Vocation Fund Prize and received a grant from the French Government. He moved to Paris in 1974, where he learnt weaving from Jagoda Buic.
He had an exhibition at the FIAC (Grand palais-Paris) in 1978.
He took engraving lessons at West. Hayter"s studio at the l"École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Paris. In 1981, he was awarded the American Fulbright grant which allowed him to live and work for two years in New York City.
Around this time he exhibited large canvasses of American football. In America he met Niki de Saint Phalle, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol.
He returned to Paris and was awarded a Doctorate from Paris VIII University in 1986.
