Career
Sbigeru Okamoto served as part-time employee of Home Ministry and chief of various sections of Shimane Prefectural Government, chief of Special Political Police Section of Kagawa and Niigata Prefectural governments, chief of General Affairs Section of Civil Administration Department of Manchoukuo director of Police Department of Shiga Prefectural Government, chief of various sections of Metropolitan Police Board, Home Ministry and Osaka Prefectural Government an,d Governor of Toyama and Yamaguchi prefectures.
Later became senior managing director and then chairman of Leather Industry Association. Elected to House of Representatives (1952). Holds additional post of director of Nihon Sangyo Kyokai (Japan Industrial Association) and councilor of Keidamen (Federation of Economics Organizations).
