A Western New York native, Scott Bylewski graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo ("UB") School of Management in 1995. He received his Master of Business Administration from UB in 1995, and his Juris Doctor from UB in 1998.
Early life and education
In 1999, he was admitted to the New York State Bar, and, in 2000, to the District of Columbia Bar. In 2009, he was honored by UB as a prominent alumnus for his "responsive leadership at work," in the wake of the Flight 3407 tragedy. Prior to graduation from UB Law School, Scott Bylewski held several law clerk posts, before serving as the lead Law Clerk for the Honorable Mark G. Farrell, Amherst Town Court Justice.
In 1999, he began practicing law with the firm of Nesper, Ferber & DiGiacomo.
In 2002, he was elected to the Clarence Town Board. In 2006, Bylewski was named Deputy Supervisor.
Elected in November 2007, Scott Bylewski helped to oversee the Bicentennial Celebration for the Town of Clarence, which marked its 200th anniversary on 11 March 2008. On 12 February 2009, Colgan Air Flight 3407 crashed into a home on Long Street in Clarence Center, killing all the passengers on board, and Douglas Wielinski, who resided in the house.
In the days that followed, Scott Bylewski and Clarence Disaster Coordinator David Bissonette were instrumental in helping to coordinate the efforts of first responders and governmental agencies ranging from the New York State Police to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Transportation Safety Board.
In his 2009 State of the Town address, he summed up the experience of the community, "The eyes of the world have gazed upon our Town and found it exceptional. Our Performance has been unparalleled. Our hearts ache, but are not broken." In 2008, he was named the Am-Political Eagle Citizen of the Year for Politics.
In August, he was named as one of Buffalo Business First"s 40 Under Forty honorees for 2009.

He previously served as a member of the Town Council from 2002-2007. As a member of the town board, he cast important votes favoring the adoption of the town"s "Greenspace" referendum and the extension of the supervisor"s term to four years.
