Career
Scott Stephenson first played for West Sydney Ice Dogs (now Sydney Ice Dogs) of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) in 2004. During his first season he played nine games, scoring one goal and recording four assists. In 2005 Stephenson moved to another AIHL club, the Central Coast Rhinos where he played 20 games before moving back to the Ice Dogs.
The following year Stephenson again switched back to Central Coast where he played the full season.
In 2007 he moved back to the Ice Dogs and played for the team until the end of the 2013 AIHL season. In January 2014 the Ice Dogs announced that Stephenson along with Tomas Manco would not be returning for the 2014 season.
He has also been a member for the New South Wales State team in 2008 where he played four games in the Brown grade (23 & under). Stephenson was first called up to represent Australia in 2002 where he joined the national under-18 team to compete at the 2002 IIHF Asian Oceanic U18 Championship.
The following year he played for the under-18 team at the 2003 IIHF World U18 Championships.
In 2004 he moved up to the national under-20 team to compete at the 2004 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He again played for the under-20 team the following year before joining the national senior team for the 2007 Men"s World Ice Hockey Championships. Stephenson has since represented Australia at five other world championships.
