Three daughter Educated.: Craigmonnt School, Edinburgh. Edinburgh Academy (1st Academical Club Prize). Edinburgh University (Master of Arts 1878).
Admitted to Scottish Bar, 1881.
Interim Sheriff-Substitute in Orkney, 1885. In Galloway, 1890; and in Skye, 1899-1901. One of the Sheriff-Substitutes of Argyllshire (Dunoon district) since 1901.
