Career
He formerly played for his school-teams, Foyle and Londonderry College and Saint Columb"s College in Derry and Ulster. He now plays his rugby for Armagh Reconstruction Finance Corporation where he is also a coach. He was employed at the Wallace High School in Lisburn for a short period of time, but was made redundant.
In 2014 Mallon was employed by Cambridge House Grammar School, Ballymena as a Technology & Design teacher where he continues to teach.
