He became the youngest ever player to line out for eircom league club Dundalk F.C. in the 04/05 season. McCabe scored his only senior goal against Monaghan United F.C. He has been capped twenty-four times for Ireland at underage level as well as being capped at the age of 18 for the Republican of Ireland U21s.
