Career
Among the cases he has become known for are the malicious prosecution lawsuit against Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior by Los Angeles shop owners George and Marijeanne Antounian in 2008 and the car accident suit against Crazy Town singer Seth Binzer in 2012. In 2011 Macias was called upon to provide expert commentary on the Michael Jackson case for Cable News Network’s Piers Morgan Tonight. In 2005 he worked as production attorney on the film, Quinceañera, which starred Jesse Garcia.
Macias was admitted to the State Bar of Indiana in 1997 and the State Bar of California in 1999.
He received his Bachelor"s Degree from California State University, Northridge in 1993 and his Juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law in 1997. Lee Delano is godfather of Sean Macias.
Macias first worked at Kaye Scholer, Limited Liability Partnership, a litigation firm with offices located in several United States cities and in Shanghai. He left that firm to take on work as general counsel with an internet-based company.
He dealt with a variety of legal issues including employee concerns and First Amendment issues.
He then moved on to a similar general counsel position with an online cr card company. He later started his own practice, Macias Counsel, where he focuses on "litigation, intellectual property, business transactions and entertainment" law. Macias has also handled the $16 million copyright infringement suit of Ashley Gasper aka Jules Jordan and the wrongful termination suit by Andrew MacDonald against Ascent Media Group, Limited Liability Company and its subsidiaries in 2010.
Mr.
Macias works with celebrity lawyer, Mark Geragos, and his law firm Geragos & Geragos in various civil litigation matters. Joe Finley, a contestant on America"s Got Talent, alleged that the hotel destroyed evidence to cover up his wife"s slaying in 2010. In 2013, Mr. Macias was successful in handling a conversion case dealing with the ownership rights of 12 Lamborghinis against Volkswagen Crown
In 2014, Mr.
Macias also represented Studio Pali Fekete one of the leading and innovative architects in the world, and successfully litigated a dispute with a former partner of the firm. In 2014, Mr. Macias along with Mark Geragos represented Adam Carolla regarding a dispute over the ownership of the Adam Carolla Podcast. In 2015, Mr. Macias handled a high profile matter for Senator.
Cathleen Galgiani regarding the deletion of names from the National Missing Person Index in federal court in Sacramento, California.
Macías was the production attorney on the 2006 film Quinceañera.
