Left elementary school without graduating.
Career
In 1902, worked at a drygoods store, and later joined the Chugoku Minpo Newspaper at Okayama. Then, in 1918, entered Osaka Jiji Shimpo Newspaper and half a year later joined the Osaka Asahi newspaper. His maiden work Mizuno Jiirozaemon was serialized in Asahi Weekly in 1940, resigned from the Asahi. Thence until now he has been constantly active as writer of swordtighting novels.
