Seiji Maeda Studied at Doitsu Kyo-kai (German association) school while working his way as a houseboy, first in a German home and then with a Russian family. Later was invited to Vladivostok where he taught Japanese at the Asiatic Language School.
After the outbreak of Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) Seiji Maeda remained as an adviser to the Russian Government.
Later moved to Saint Petersburg where he became a naturalized Russian citizen and worked in POW Information Bureau. After the end of the war returned to his teaching job in Vladivostok. The Russian Government had great trust in him.
Returned to Japan but was stabbed to death on suspicion of being a Russian spy.
