Seijiro Tanaka graduated from Tokyo University of Commerce (1930). In 1942 he studied in China.
Seijiro Tanaka worked for Chuo Koron Sha (1936-1938). He became Chief Secretary of the Writers Association.
He was chiefly interested in English literature of the 20th Century and has translated several works by Charlotte Bronte, E. M. Forster and Graham Green.
