Was appointed police commissioner and then Lord of Izumo Clan (Shimane Prefecture). Is said to have followed Yoriyoshi Minamoto on the latter's expedition to Oshu (northeastern Japan) as a chief hawker. Is regarded as the father of the Sei- rai-ryu school of hawking.
