Graduated from Theoretical Physics Department of Tokyo University (1911).
Served successively as assistant at Tohoku University, professor of Matsuyama Higher School and assistant professor of Kyushu University. Promoted to professor (1925).
Received a doctorate in science and retired from Kyushu University becoming emeritus professor (1934). Studied in England, France, Germany and Australia as overseas student of Education Ministry.
Held additional post of chairman of Nihon Nogyo Kisho Gakukai (Japan Agricultural Meteorological Society).
