Selby Beeler was born and grew up in Rochester, Minnesota.

Career

Salby Beeler studied and worked in New York, then she moved to Alabama and then back to Rochester, Minnesota, where she lives with her family. In addition to writing, Selby has, at various times, taught swimming and canoeing, rescued baby birds, worked for a fashion magazine, drawn a weekly cartoon for an Army newspaper, and co-owned two children's stores for which she wrote and illustrated all the advertising.
