Selina Roberts received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (1970), and a Master of Arts in Photography from the University of Oregon, Eugene (1974).
In 1979 Selina Roberts became the trust administrator of U.S. National Bank of Oregon, Portland, and from 1976 to 1979 was executive director of the Lane Regional Arts Council, Eugene, Oregon. She was a photographer for Harvard University News Office, Cambridge, Massachusetts, from 1970 to 1972, and in 1972 she worked for WGBH-TV in Cambridge, providing slides for the evening news. Her main body of work is a group of photographs taken over a year's time in a small Oregon town.
