KATAEV, Semen was born in 1904.
1929 graduated Moscow Higher Technology School.
Television specialist. Main works deal with development of electronic system, television and pulse technican. 1931 devised first Soviet equipment for transmission of moving images, subsequently named the “iconoscope” (Author’s Certificate Nr.
29865, August 24 1931). 1932 devised cathode tube in which the principle of electronic transmission of television images was used for the first time. Developed high-vacuum picture-tube with magnetic focusing.
Developed principles of design of arbitrary pulse generators.
