Elementary school.
Career
From the age of 15 worked at plants in Moscow, Saint St. Petersburg, et cetera Modeller by trade; 1898 joined the League for the Liberation of the Working Class. From 1905 professional revolutionary.
Repeatedly in prison and exile. Member, Moscow and Saint St. Petersburg Party Committee. Delcg, Stockholm Congress.
1917 member, Novaya Nikolayevka Party Committee. Then chairman, Military Revol Staff in Tomsk. 1919 Collegium member.
People's Commissariat of Domestic Affairs. Then member, Small Economic Council. 1920-1921 Party work in the Urals and Tatary.
1921-1924 dean, Leningrad Communist University. From 1924 press official Head, Press Department, Central Committee, All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks).
Member. Commission for Communist Party History. Edited various newspapers and journals. 1923 spoke out vehemently against Trotsky in a pamphlet entitled Istoriya odnogo uklona (The History of a Deviation).
1926 temporarily sided with “Leningrad opposition”. From 1928 worked for “Krasnaya nov’ ”. Chairman, ed council, “Federation” Publishing House.
Editor, “Literatumaya gazeta”. Member, All-Russian Social of Peasant Writers. Chief educated State Fiction Publishing House.
Editor, ”Soviet Writer" Publishing House. Arrested by State Security organs.
