As a youth began work in Rostov railroad workshops. Soon joined one of the first illegal Social-Democratic circles. 1902 for the first time arrested, released after six months.
1903 arrested again helping to stage a major demonstration in Rostov. Summer 1905, after his release from Akatuy Jail, participated in Rostov’s Temernik Rayon revolt. July 1905 arrested and until 1913 exiled.
1913 released and ordered to settle in Verkholensk Uyezd, Irkutsk Province. Fled and lived illegally in various Siberian towns. 1914-1915 founded in Irkutsk pro-Bolshevik Siberian Workers’ Union.
Summer 1915, after suppression of the union, re-arrested and imprisoned. After 1917 February Revol returned to Rostov. Chairman, Rostov-Nakhichevan Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee.
1918 — 19 held various posts on Southern Front: in Kozlov, Donbass, Khar’kov, Kazan’ (Reserve Army), Krasnodar, et cetera Early 1918 member, Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Oblast Bolshevik Committee. Administration comissar, Government of Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic.
1920 moved to Moscow and worked for Moscow Party Committee. Founded “Moskovskiy rabochiy” Publ House. Wrote numerous works, mainly of an autobiographical character.
Arrested by State Security organs.
