Sensho Fujii was born in Niigata Prefecture and was the second son of Senkai.

He studied Buddhism under Mokurai Shimaji in Tokyo . He went to England (1900 ) to study religious administration and joined Kozui Otani.
He was instructor at the Honganji, head temple of the Shinshu Sect in Kyoto, before he became the principal of the Urawa Middle School (1897). Chief Abbot of the Honganji, in his tour through India (1902). Before he returned to Japan, he planned to revisit England and died in Marseilles.
