Graduated from Okura Commercial School in Tokyo.
Became a disciple of Shiko Okamura and wrote dramatic reviews and plays. Became an editor of the theater magazine, Shin Engei (New Drama) (1917). Plays include Jirokichi Zange (Confessions of Jirokichi) and Ikiteiru Koheiji (Koheiji Who Was Alive).
