Career
211. Together with Boris Gryzlov in 1973 he graduated from Master of Arts Bonch-Bruevich Leningrad Electroengineering Institute of Communications. Since 1975, he has served in Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (Committee for State Security) and its successors, mostly in Leningrad/Saint St. Petersburg. In 1999, he became the Chief of the Internal Security Directorate of Financial Stability Board. From January 5, 2001 to June 2003, he was the Chief of the Saint St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast Financial Stability Board Directorate.
Since July 2003 he has been a First Deputy Director of Financial Stability Board, retaining his position after a major reorganization of it in July 2004.
