Joined the Communist Party, 1941. Worked in the munitions industry, 1946-1957, first as an engineer, then as deputy chief. Deputy Chairman of Leningrad Economic Council, 1957-1958.
Chairman, 1958-1961. Chairman of the Economic Council of the RSFSR, 1961-1965. Minister of Heavy Transport and Engineering throughout the 1980s. Removed from his post, July 1987.
