Career
Since 1984, Sergei Alekseevich Kovalev has been a doctor in the emergency surgery department, surgeon (since 1987), head of the department (since 1998) of cardiac surgery at Voronezh Regional Clinical Hospital. Simultaneously, since 2000, he’s been the head of the Interregional Cardiac Surgery Center, the chief cardiac surgeon of the Voronezh Region Main Health Department, professor of the Surgery Department No. 2 of the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education of Voronezh State Medical Academy. He is the author of over 160 scientific papers on cardiac surgery.
