Career
He began his labor activity in 1973 as a tractor driver. Since 1980 he worked in the prosecutor's office of the Krapivinsky district of the Kemerovo region: intern, assistant prosecutor, investigator.
Then he was the senior investigator, deputy head of the investigative section of the Kemer Prosecutor's Office. Since 1986 - deputy prosecutor of the city of Kemerovo. In 1989 he was transferred to the central apparatus of the Prosecutor's Office of the RSFSR (since 1992 - the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation): the prosecutor, the senior prosecutor, the head of the department, the deputy head of the Main Investigation Department, the head of the Office of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.
Since February 2002 to April 2004 - State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Railways of the Russian Federation. On 28.05.2004 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, and on November 26, 2005 - State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation.
