From 1974 to 1994 he was on military service. Over a period of 1994-2000, he assumed senior positions in the Russian Foreign Exchange and Export Control Federal Service. Since 2001 Sergey Nikolaevich was the Head of the Presidential Administration International Relations Division of the Russian Federation. Since 2002, Deputy Manager of the President of the Russian Federation.
