1905 graduate Vilnius Theological Seminary. 1905-1907 studied first at Medical Faculty then at History and Philology Faculty, Yur’ev (Tartu) University. 1914 graduate History and Philology Faculty, Saint St. Petersburg University.
1914-1919 history lecturer at Vilnius colleges. 1919-1921 taught history, Russian language and law in Belebey, Ufa Province. Simultaneously member, uyezd extraordinary commission for eliminating illiteracy.
From 1921 in Minsk; 1921-1924 member, Belorussian Ccntr Commission for Eliminating Illiteracy. Also lecturer in Russian language and social sci at Minsk higher educational establishments. From 1924 member, Archeological Commission, Institute of Belorussian Culture.
Then researcher Archeology Section, Belorussian Academy of Sciences. Pupil of noted archeologist A. Spitsyn. 1910-1914 conducted archeological excavations in Belorussian’sk LIyezd, Grodno Province, from 1925 directed archeological studies and excavations in Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic.
With A. North. Lyavdanskiy and K. M. Polikarpovich studied paleolithic encampment near village Berdyzh, Chechersk Rayon. Excavated painted ceramic ware sites, Bantserovo township and also Germanovo and Circassian townships near Orsha. Directed excavation of Zaslavl’ and other burial mounds.
Published monograph on Bibliyahrafiya pa arkhealogii Belarusi i sumezhnikh krain (Bibliography on the Archeology of Belorussia and Neighboring Regions) (1932). May 1937 arrested by People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs.
