1930 graduated Leningrad University.

Career

1939-1943 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science. 1946-1956 Presidium member, USSR Academy of Science. 1930 research into mechanical of liquids and gases and unsettled movements in canals and rivers.

During World War II directed compilation of section of “Rukovodstvo dlya konstruktorov” (Manual for Designers) for aerodynamic computation of high-speed planes and rockets. Since 1950 occupied with research into theory of elasticity and study of corner layers by means of gas and liquid streams. 1930-1937 at Leningrad Hydrological Institute.

1937-1953 at Zhukovsky Central Institute of Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics. Since 1956 at Institute of Chemical Physics, USSR Academy of Science. Since 1958 in Siberian Deputy, USSR Academy of Science.
