ОрреГ. 1904 wounded while serving as a military surgeon in besieged Portuguese Arthur and interned by Japanese. From 1914 head, Chair of General Surgery, Saratov University.
During World War 1 served on Caucasian and Western Fronts. From 1920 until death head, Chair of Faculty Surgery, Saratov University. 1922-1928 also rector, Saratov University.
1941-1945 military surgeon in Soviet Army. Did research on renal syphilis, sarcomas of the tubular bones, ligation of the carotid artery, collateral blood circulation, et cetera Introduced new method of transferring the ureter to the rectum.
During World War 1 compiled statistics on 180,000 gun-shot wounds. Chairman, Saratov Surgical Social. Chairman, Lower Volga Kray Physicians’ Association.
