Studied the processes of oil desulphurization, catalytic cracking of oil fractions, oxygen conversion of paraffin into alcohols and aldehydes, detergent production, motor oil and fuel additives, et cetera Discovered second-order camphenc rearrangement which now bears his name. Also did research on perfumes and chemical fertilizers.
