1900-1914 head, Health Statistics Section, Main Medical Inspection Board. 1903-1914 compiled and published the “Annual Statistical Review of the State of Public Health and the Organization of Medical Aid in Russia”. 1907-1924 professor of health and demographic statistics, Statistics Courses, Centr Statistical Committee.
1916-1931 associate professor of health statistics, Petrograd (Leningrad) Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training. 1916 published first Russian mortality tables, based on the census of 1897. 1918-1935 head, Department of Demographic and Health Statistics, Petrograd (Leningrad) Municipal Statistical Board.
1918, 1920, 1923 and 1926 supervised population censuses of Leningrad and school censuses in Leningrad Oblast. 1929-1930 also worked for the Economy Statistics Section, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics State Planning Committee. 1935-1950 professor, Leningrad Pediatric Institute.
Compiled statistics on child mortality, birth-rates, mortality from cancer and tuberculosis, general health statistics and life-expectancy tables. Wrote over 150 works.
Member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Academy of Medical Sciences and Honorary Sciences Worker of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1945.
