TIKHOMIROV, Sergey was born in 1905 in Moscow.


1930 graduated Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology.


1955 member, USSR government delegation Berlin. 1957 headed USSR Minister of Chemical Industry and USSR Academy of Science delegation Britain. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1954 and 1958 convocation.

At 1952 Communist Party of the Soviet Union Congress elected candidate member of the Central Committee. 1956-1961 Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. 1924-1930 unskilled worker, then typist, clerk and bookkeeper.

1930-1931 Deputy Chairman, Coal Chemistry Department, Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology. 1931-1938 engineer, Special Laboratory, Yaroslavl “Svobodny trud” (Free Labor) Plant. Engineer, Special Laboratory, Moscow Research Institute of Paints and Varnishes.

Chemist, Special Laboratory, then Deputy Director for experimental installations, Voroshilov Research Institute of Organic Intermediary Products and Dyes, Moscow. Foreman, dep. charge-hand, then charge-hand Dorogomilovo Chemical Plant. 1938-1942 Chief Engineering and 1942-1947 Director, Dorogomilovo Chemical Plant.

1947-1950 USSR Deputy Ministry, then First Deputy Minister of Chemical Industry. 1950-June 1958 USSR Minister of Chemical Industry. June 1958-August 1958 Chairman, State Committee Chemistry, USSR Council of Ministers.
