VSEKHSVYATSKY, Sergey was born in 1905.
Presidium member, Central Council, Astronomical and Geodetical Society. Organized observations of the sun and research on solar activity. Compiled “Obshchiy katalog absolyutnykh velichin komet” (General Catalogue of the Absolute Sizes of Comets), containing data for all recorded comets.
Discovered relatively rapid weakening of luminosity in comets with passage of time. Developed theory that comets and other groups of small bodies in the solar system originated via their ejection from the large planets and their satellites, etc.
Religiously inspired people justify violence, resist social changes, and attack on science.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
