Sergey Krasheninnikov was Russian journalist, maritime historian and writer. He participated in expeditions, was a head of the office of the scientific committee of the maritime department. Krasheninnikov edited and published special works, articles and biographies of a famous maritime figures.
Background
Sergey Krasheninnikov was born on the 4th of August, 1811 in Moscow, in the family of the nobles. He spent his early childhood years in the estate of his uncle (Kchreschatovo village, Karacheevski district, Voronezh region, Russian Federation). He also spent a lot of time in Voronezh and was a friend of Alexey Vasilyevich Koltsov.

In 1928 Krasheninnikov graduated from the Naval Cadet Corps (Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation)
Career
In 1837-1843 Sergey Krasheninnikov participated in expeditions to the hydrographic survey of the shores of the Gulf of Finland. He was the head of the office of the scientific committee of the maritime department. He also edited the Maritime Collection magazine, where he published, in addition to special works, articles on the celebration of the centenary of the Naval Cadet Corps, as well as the biographies of a number of famous maritime figures, including historians Vasily Nikolaevich Berkh and Sergei Ivanovich Elagin. He was a member of the Military Encyclopedic Dictionary, edited by Baron Loggin Ivanovich Zeddeler .
