(This atlas is a practical guide to duplex ultrasonography...)
This atlas is a practical guide to duplex ultrasonography of the peripheral vascular system of the neck, extremities, and abdomen. It is intended primarily for vascular technologists, ultrasonographers, radiologists, and vascular sugeons. General surgeons, neurologists, cardiologists, and other surgical and medical undergraduates and postgraduates may also find one or more of the sections to be of use. The atlas reviews, concisely and system by system, the signs, symptoms, anatomy, pathophysiology, and diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for particular clinical problems. It specifies technical protocols for performing duplex studies, including initial and follow-up evaluations. Because the treatment of many vascular conditions is surgical, it includes intraoperative as well as pre- and post-operative examples. And it offers advice on identifying anatomic landmarks, differentiating vessels, keeping pertinent vessels in view, avoiding pitfalls, and interpreting unusual findings. Theory has been included but subordinated to matters of technique and practice. 402 images. 185 pp. In form, the atlas is divided into four parts: 1. Arterial scanning (neck, lower and upper extremities, and abdomen) 2. Venous scanning (lower and upper extremities) 3. Special studies 4. Color flow imaging
