Education
At the early age of 16 he went to Edo to study literature under Kanetane Hirata, Confucian philosophy under Zen-an Asakawa and medicine from Shoan Tsujimoto.
Politics
An ardent Loyalist he organized a band of youth in Kozuke (Gumma Prefecture), and declared open revolt against the Shogunate at Mount Iwafune. The plot failed and he was duly executed.
